Sian Goodspeed
Sian’s Brand “Be more giraffe” represents her vision of reconnecting with our natural compassion and building meaningful connections with others. Giraffes and jackals symbolise contrasting communication styles. Giraffes represent our compassionate nature—while jackals provoke defensive responses. It was important to capture both aspects for Sian's website (her puppets were great props), along with a portfolio of portraits of her embodying her inner giraffe. https://www.bemoregiraffe.com/
“I wholeheartedly recommend working with Samjhana. If you feel nervous or unsure, trust her process — and trust yourself. It’s so much more than a photo session; it’s a gentle, uplifting experience, and the images you come away with will be something to treasure.
When the final photos arrived, they were absolutely stunning. I struggled to choose favourites because there were so many I loved. Samjhana captured not just what I look like, but something deeper — a sense of inner beauty and light that I’m truly grateful to have reflected back.”
“I first came across Samjhana’s photography on the front cover of Reconnect magazine and was struck by how beautiful the images were. There was something so special about the way she captured people — as if their true essence and inner light were shining through. The colours, the natural settings, the sense of calm and presence. I remember thinking that I would love to have photos taken by that photographer.
Well imagine my surprise when Samjhana showed up in the same coaching programme as me! It felt like a sign! Even so, I was hesitant because I don’t usually enjoy being photographed. I tend to feel awkward and self-conscious, and I genuinely doubted I could look as relaxed and radiant as the women I saw in her images. But after hearing Samjhana speak about her approach, and then talking with her directly, those worries began to disappear. Her warmth, gentleness and genuine care were so evident. I could feel that she would hold the space beautifully and help me feel at ease — maybe even help me enjoy it!
So I decided to go for it and booked onto a morning photo session - and the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. The preparation guidance was so thoughtful — right down to the face-yoga tips on the morning of the shoot, which really helped me feel fresh and ready. On the day, we wandered through a stunning woodland by the river, and the session felt relaxed, unforced and really grounding. I even found myself having fun — something I never thought I’d say about being in front of a camera!
When Samjhana showed me a few images on the back of the camera, I felt emotional. I saw myself in a way I don’t often see — soft, open, and connected to the environment around me.
